Jörg Bivendørf: Any Color as Long as It’s Green, Muse Gallery, Longmont, Colorado 2010
Jörg was born on the island Hopen. At age 79, fed up with the secrecy of his possible parents among the four resident researchers at the weather station, he stole a wagon and set sail for Biarritz. Seventeen months later, barely dry, he drifted up on the shores of Barentsburg and took a cab to Longyearbyen. He found Svalbard an ideal place for fashion inspiration because of the pessimistic temperature readings.
For Jörg, more layers equals more Fashion.
Jörg chose Longmont as the backdrop for his collaborations with Beauty because it is the only city known by Jörg to possess an equal numerical value of characters to that of Svalbard. Also, it should be noted that a major factor for his choice was the friendly and professional service of The Cheese Importers (www.cheeseimporters.com).
As for Longmont’s reaction, some 900 patients visited Jörg’s exhibit Granfalloon at the Muse gallery in May 2010. And with a cover story in the local paper, the fan mail has been pouring in daily at 3:15 pm Mountain Time.
Jörg Bivendørf, whose name is spelled for aesthetic reasons without regard for any language, is the collaborative team of artists Angela Beloian and Adam Walker. The conception for this venture materialized after viewing the spread on pages 14 and 15 in the Fall 2009 Men’s Fashion issue of the New York Times Style Magazine.
