Referencing Victoria’s Secret catalogs, I fracture and abstract the powerful advertising in order to flatten, complicate, and subvert the image. Simplifying my palette to three colors (magenta, yellow, and pthalo blue,) I am simulating the printing process used in the production of the catalogs. The resulting images are both seductive and repulsive while hinting at the distortion and manipulation used in advertising.
