Installation

When it’s time to go, when we must leave our country and flee with just the few precious articles we can carry, how do we bring our “home” with us? Headlines of displaced Syrian refugees evoke for me personal stories of my family escaping the Armenian genocide in 1915.
Safety Net is braided and crocheted from mismatched bed sheets donated by friends. It’s intricate weaving of colors mirrors the cultural exchanges that develop when diverse groups of people collide.
